Partner Profiles


Kent Elmer is a CPA with 15 years of broad-based experience ranging from Big 4 public accounting to CFO level positions at a variety of companies. Kent began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. After gaining a strong foundation, he made the transition to the private sector. His public company experience includes various positions including Controller and CFO of a NASDAQ software company (IQ Software Corporation). He has also been the CFO of a number of early and growth stage technology ventures in both software and hardware (Carecentric Solutions, Inc., Digital Furnace, Inc., R.F. Solutions, Inc.). In addition, Kent spent time on the West Coast with Broadcom Corporation assisting in the acquisition and integration of over 10 early stage companies in a twelve-month period. Every private sector company that Kent has worked for has successfully navigated its way through the acquisition process. Through TechCFO, Kent is currently providing CFO and related services to early and growth stage technology companies in the Southeast region.
Fred Baumbach has 30 years of senior financial and operational management experience, primarily in service and technology companies. His experience ranges from $1 billion companies to pre-revenue startups, as well as eight years as a CPA with Ernst & Young which included three years on E&Y’s national office accounting and auditing staff. His private company experience includes serving as the senior financial executive for early stage technology ventures (Brickstream Corporation, Silverpop Systems) as well as holding senior financial positions at other technology and service companies (Cox Enterprises, Norrell Health Care, Lynk Systems). Fred also owned a software company for 4 years which sold software to homebuilders in the Atlanta market and nationwide.
Mike Casey brings more than 22 years of financial and operational leadership with a proven track record of execution, having served as CFO in leading public software and technology companies including MAPICS, iXL Enterprises, Manhattan Associates and IQ Software. Prior to joining TechCFO, Mike was the CFO at MAPICS, a publicly traded, global enterprise resource planning software provider for the manufacturing industry. At MAPICS, he helped restructure operations, acquire and restructure a competitor which drove revenue and earnings growth leading to its sale to Infor Global Solutions for more than $350 million. Prior to joining MAPICS, Mike served as CFO and Executive Vice President Finance and Administration for iXL Enterprises, Inc., a publicly traded, global Internet services consulting firm, where he directed all financial, human resource, IT, facilities and administrative functions during its restructuring and its merger with Scient, Inc.  Previously, Mike served as CFO of Manhattan Associates, Inc., a publicly traded developer of supply chain execution systems, during rapid growth and its successful initial public offering. Mike's experience also includes serving as CFO for IQ Software Corporation, a publicly traded developer of business intelligence solutions, during its growth and successful initial public offering. Mike began his career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen, where he specialized in serving the technology and communications industries. Mike earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Georgia.
Eric Froistad has nearly 30 years of senior financial and operating experience with both public and private companies, including TSYS Loyalty, Alignis and New World Communications Group. Froistad will help TechCFO expand on its on-demand CFO, turnaround, and M&A advisory services for fast growing tech and biotech firms. Froistad has closed more than $17 million in equity and debt financing, led financial turnarounds and positioned companies for mergers with large competitors. He has also played an instrumental role in a $2 billion capital restructuring and subsequent IPO and acquisition of over $1.5 billion of operating properties for New World Communications. Froistad is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Colorado.
Todd Guthrie brings 17 years of diversified financial experience to TechCFO, having served in senior financial executive roles for Atlanta-based manufacturing, distribution, and service companies ranging from start-ups to $300+ million in revenues.  His experience spans public companies and international operations with a special emphasis on high-growth, high-change environments.  He also spent six years as a CPA with KPMG’s Manufacturing, Retail & Distribution practice. Todd serves as client engagement partner and heads up TechCFO’s tangible products and services practice.
Rick Lynch is a CPA and MBA with 20 years of financial and operational leadership experience with public and private firms in retail technology, telecom, software and healthcare, as well as experience with Big 4 public accounting and management consulting firms.  Prior to joining TechCFO, Rick was CFO for VueMedia, Inc., a retail payment and loyalty software company where he assisted with the Company’s start-up and procured its initial round of capital.  Prior to that, Rick led a successful corporate turnaround while serving as President and COO for E-Visions, Inc., a $50 million IBM technology reseller and joint venture partner of Inacom Information Systems.  Previously Rick was co-founder and CFO for Edgecom, Inc. where he played a key role in its acquisition by GTECH, a $1 billion public company and the world’s largest lottery transaction network provider.  He later participated in the spin off to Hewlett Packard/VeriFone, Inc., where he assumed the position of Corporate Development Manager.  His early public company experience includes serving as Director of Finance and Reporting for National Healthcare, Inc., a $250 million public healthcare company where he was responsible for all S.E.C. and audit reporting and for the consolidation of the Company’s 34 subsidiaries.  Rick also served over 4 years as Consulting Manager for Tunstall Consulting, Inc., a leading management firm providing strategic planning and corporate finance services for clients in rapid growth, turnaround or acquisition modes.  Rick started his career with Arthur Andersen & Company, has a B.S. degree in Business Administration from The Citadel, is a CPA, and received his MBA from Georgia State University ’s Executive Program in 2002.
Greg McGraw has over 25 years of financial and operational leadership with a successful track record as CEO, CFO and COO of both public and private technology companies including IBM/ROLM, Tie Communications, Convergent Communications, Telemate.Net Software, Cypress Communications Holding Co. and BroadRiver, Inc.  Prior to BroadRiver, McGraw was CEO, President, former CFO and director of Cypress Communications Holding Co., Inc., an $80 million publicly traded, managed services company operating in 25 major cities in the U.S. until he led the sale of the company to a $1+ billion global private equity firm in 2005. In 2004 and 2005, Mr. McGraw was named one of the 50 Top Entrepreneurs in Atlanta by Catalyst Magazine.  McGraw has a strong M&A, turnaround and restructuring background coupled with ‘hands on’ start-up experience.  In 2006, McGraw founded iVidia Solutions, a converged solution provider based on a ‘Software as a Service’ architecture, which he later sold to BroadRiver. Prior to Cypress , Mr. McGraw was EVP & Corporate Development Officer at Convergent Communications, a publicly traded Integrated Communications Provider. He led the growth of the company through eight acquisitions totaling $200+ million in revenue contributing to Convergent’s successful $134 million IPO in 1999 and $175 million private equity placement in 2000. Previously, Greg was CFO at TIE Communications, a $100-million national communications provider and VP Business Development at Telemate.Net Software. Mr. McGraw spent a decade early in his career in IBM’s telecommunications division with roles in corporate finance, operations & marketing.  Mr. McGraw has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Public Accounting from George Mason University in Virginia . He is a member of the Atlanta CEO Council, the Technology Association of Georgia and is on the board of the Southeast Software Association.
Neal Miller brings over 20 years of financial, operations, sales and marketing executive management experience to TechCFO, having served in senior management positions in private and public companies ranging from $2 million to $2 billion in revenues. Neal has significant experience in software, telecommunications and subscriber-based services.Prior to joining TechCFO, Neal has served as CFO at publicly held companies American Software Inc., Syntellect Inc. and Cypress Communications Inc., and in a senior financial management position with Tandem Computers. His early stage experience includes venture backed CES International where he prepared the company for an IPO and raised nearly $20 million in venture capital, and Agentis Software, where he currently serves as a Director, and CFO. Neal also serves on the advisory board of MaxRecall Technologies, an early stage, privately held provider of integrated document management solutions.Neal’s spans of responsibility as a CFO have included all financial, administrative, legal, human resources, IT and internal systems development functions. He has extensive experience directing the implementation of back office solutions, both packaged and custom developed solutions. In addition to his financial expertise, Neal also served as Division President of Syntellect Interactive Services, the $10 million revenue hosted IVR services division of Syntellect Inc. where he was responsible for sales, marketing, product development and customer care and as an Account Executive, selling enterprise software solutions at American Software.Neal is a CPA and began his career with KPMG after obtaining his BBA from Georgia State University.
Frank Pazera has extensive public and private financial management experience in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors.  During his career Frank has orchestrated and completed a number of fundraising (debt & equity) merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions.
Most recently, Frank held the position of Chief Financial Officer for Neomedia Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded mobile marketing enterprise, while he was a Partner with Tatum, LLC.  Previously, Frank was Chief Executive Officer and Director for the publicly traded telecommunication service provider, Covista Communications, Inc. where he previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer.  In addition, Frank has held a variety of executive positions at companies that include, AirGate PCS, Inc., a publicly traded wireless services company and Network One, a privately held regional Competitive Local Exchange Carrier, Turner Broadcasting, Inc, a publicly traded media & entertainment provider, and MCI, a publicly traded international telecommunication service provider.
Frank is a Certified Public Accountant and began his career at Arthur Andersen & Company.  He earned a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and holds an MBA in Finance from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University in Atlanta. 


Mark Rapoport has over 25 years of senior management experience in healthcare and technology companies ranging from small VC backed to Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining TechCFO, Mark was President & CEO and a Director of Thomas, Thomas & Walsh, Inc. (TT&W), a VC funded healthcare revenue cycle management company which addressed hospitals’ self pay/uninsured population. He identified TT&W and managed the purchase of the company, raised $7.4 million in VC and private investor funding, devised and implemented a strategy to provide technology-driven healthcare eligibility services, and ultimately led the process to sell the company to MedAssist, Inc. the largest provider of eligibility services in the United States. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer and CFO for Landacorp Inc, a publicly traded healthcare technology company providing case management software solutions to hospitals and managed care organizations, and a technology based disease management program to managed care organizations. During his first two years at Landacorp, cash flow improved from a negative $9.5 million to a positive $5.0 million per year as a result of cost reductions and investments in technology. He led the sale of Landacorp to SHPS Holdings, Inc for $56 million. His experience also includes 11 years at BellSouth Corporation, where he held the positions of CFO of BellSouth Entertainment (wireless and cable TV operations), Corporate Executive Director of M&A Accounting, CFO of BellSouth Marketing Programs, and Controller of BellSouth Systems Integration. He was SVP and Controller at iXL Enterprises, Inc., a publicly traded, global Internet services company, Director of Finance at Dial Call, Inc., a start up cellular company sold to Nextel, and in the M&A department at Coca-Cola USA during the period of rapid consolidation of the domestic bottling network. He started his career as a CPA at KPMG. Mark holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from Emory University and a BA in Economics from State University of New York at Binghamton.
Gary Strickland is a seasoned financial executive focused on early stage and venture backed technology-related companies.  After starting his career as Audit Manager with Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneurial Services Group, his experiences have ranged from being the 7th employee of a start-up to taking an emerging service provider public on NASDAQ to playing a key financial role for an established NYSE technology company.  Most recently, Gary was Chief Financial Officer of SunGard BancWare.  SunGard BancWare was a $60M business unit of SunGard Data Systems, Inc., a $4B global leader in software and processing solutions for financial services, higher education, and the public sector.  During his four years at SunGard BancWare, the entity grew revenues and operating income by 30% annually through internal growth and acquisition.  As Chief Financial Officer of several technology companies, including AP Engines, Inc., ZipLink, Inc., and GammaGraphX, Inc., Gary played an active leadership role in strategic, operational, and financial activities.  Gary has raised over $120M of equity and debt financings, including taking ZipLink, a provider of wholesale Internet connectivity, public on NASDAQ in Q2 1999. Gary graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1985 and received his CPA Certification in 1989. 
Chris Thomajan has been a CFO for 18 years in a variety of industries, including Investment Banking, Software, Internet Services, Telecomm, and Bio-Technology.  Chris was a Founding Partner of America’s Growth Capital, a boutique investment bank focused on emerging growth technology companies.  He was the early stage CFO/VP Operations for Asurion Corporation which has grown to over $1 billion in revenues.  He was also the CFO for a pioneering Internet company, Delphi Internet Services, which was acquired by News Corporation in 1993.  He has extensive experience in raising debt and equity, has been involved in numerous M&A transactions and has managed the Operations of several start-up companies during rapid revenue growth.  He received a B.A. from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
